For taller people or anyone who wants a large lounging surface, the XL is worth it. If you have a small room, though, I can see the standard size being more practical.
The wide surface is the main reason I like the XL. I can move a little left or right without immediately falling off the support area.
At 185 cm, I finally have a support pillow that feels proportionate to my body. It reaches much farther down than the smaller ones I have tried.
I like using it for my legs, but I am on the shorter side and the elevation feels slightly high after a while. I usually shorten the session or adjust my position.
The foam feels supportive and dense, but I would describe it as firmer rather than plush. If you love very soft pillows, there may be an adjustment period.
I use it face-down with my phone quite often. The chest area gives me room to breathe and the large surface feels very stable.
I lean back against it with the head support under my neck and read without hunching forward. The larger surface makes it easy to find a comfortable angle.
After sitting all day, I often use it for leg elevation. The wide surface feels stable and gives both legs plenty of room.
Semi-reclining is where the XL works best for me. My back and waist stay supported for long TV sessions without feeling like I am sliding off the pillow.
The stability is excellent, but the weight is a real tradeoff. A normal wedge can be moved with one hand; this one usually takes both hands.
At 182 cm, smaller wedge pillows usually stop around my waist. The XL gives me support much farther down my body, which is why I chose it.
I focused on the idea that bigger would be more comfortable and did not measure my bed first. The XL takes up a lot of room, so I would definitely check your space before buying.
Standard backrest pillows often feel narrow on me. The XL gives my arms and torso enough room that I can actually relax instead of feeling squeezed.
I wanted the larger version because I do not like feeling confined by a narrow support pillow. The extra width gives me more room to shift position comfortably.
Compared with a normal wedge pillow, this supports far more of my body at once. It feels more like a full lounging surface than a simple back wedge.
